comes a time
to rub the past
from our eyes like
the early morning dreams
that color the day
…to build stout bridges over
the synap-typical pathways cut
by fire thru our right lobes,
& use them
…to reach in & cut out
the old wiring, unafraid
of the spark & current,
to wipe old programs,
& re-boot the hard drive
…to shake the fear
from our brows like the dust
of the unworthy from our sandals
